Las Palmas, located just a half mile from the strip is set to be the first African American-owned and largest non-gaming Las Vegas hotel. The Peebles Corp has received initial planning approval from Clark County for the 13-acre complex and its first tower is expected to open in 2010.
The 4.5 million square-foot project will consist of four 55-story aqua-colored glass towers, three condominium buildings and a hotel tower with residential units above, containing 800 (5 star) luxury hotel suites and 1,030 condos. It will also include upscale restaurants and shops. Condo prices will range from $600 to more than $1,000 a square foot.
